The last enemy to be destroyed is death! I Cor 15:26

"I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes." Hosea 13:14

"This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death. To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD." PS 102:18-22.

Death and Resurrection Power

Vision in the night

I am standing outside the tomb where the body of Jesus has been laid watching at some distance. There is no stone on the tomb and people are coming ever so often (just a few not many). They enter the tomb and place their body face down upon the body of the Lord and remain there for a short time just a few minutes and then would get up and go on their way. I knew that they were choosing to come and identify with the Lord in His death and burial. After watching this for quite some time I begin to realize I needed to go and identify with Him in His death and burial as well. Somehow I knew that if I did not do it soon it would miss my opportunity to do so. After just a moment more of hesitation I decided that I would go and do what I had seen the others doing.

I enter the tomb and place my body face down upon the body of the Lord Jesus and remained there for what seem to be about the same brief amount of time that I had seen the others lay there. As I started to raise myself up from His body (although I knew His physical body never moved) I felt Him reach His arms around me in the Spirit and hold me there close to Himself. When He did that I felt such gratitude and appreciation pouring out of the His spirit into mine. He was pouring His love over me for my choosing to come and identify with Him in His death and burial that I was completely overwhelmed and lost in His love. It was so wonderful and beyond words! I could just stay there forever wrapped in Him. I lost all track of time and have no idea how long I was there.

The next thing I was aware of was a shock wave of tremendous power surging through our bodies. Just as the first one was subsiding came a second wave of power and when it hit I saw the eyes of the Lord open and I knew what was happening. He was being resurrected! The second great ripple of power surging through our bodies was beyond all ability to comprehend or describe, words simply are not enough. I felt spikes of power shooting both through and from my body. I convulsed with its power and tingled all over. Overwhelming joy and laughter, goodness and life flowing from the throne room of heaven filled my body. In my great joy I was laughing and dancing around shouting "He is risen! He is risen!"

The others who had come and identified with Him in His death had come into the tomb where we were looked at me in wonder and as they wanted to know what is going on, what is happening. I say to them can you not see? I am still dancing and laughing with such abandoned joy. Jesus is risen! He is risen! They are perplexed saying nothing happened to them like that when they identified with Him in His death. Why had his resurrection power filled me and not them? Still so full of wonder of it all my self I said,do not know I just know He is risen!

I turn to look at Jesus and He is sitting quietly on the place where He had been laying. I run to the tomb opening and turn to Jesus and say, Come on Jesus let's go tell them you have risen. He looks at me very somber faced and says, I am going to rest. Not understanding this I say again, Come on let's go tell them you have risen. Again He says to me, I am going to rest. As He is saying this the second time, just for an instant His face changes to be the face of a very close friend of mine and then changes back again. I felt torn for I wanted to run and shout the good news about His resurrection yet I wanted to be where He is I did not want to leave His side.

I awake from the vision with this feeing of being torn in my heart. It was all so very real. I could still feel the spikes of power coursing through my body and spirit. I could still feel the joy. I could still see His face. Something deep had happened something had changed.

Dream Interpretation:
My reluctance of going and identifying with Jesus in His death and burial is typical of most in the church who want the life of God without embracing the full death and burial of Jesus in their lives. Without the work of the cross there can of course be no real life of Jesus Christ in the believer!

Those who did go into the tomb to identify with Him in His death but stayed for only a few minutes are those who accept Jesus death for their past sins but who then get up and go on living their lives as they did before with very little change. I would have done just as they, had it not been for the Lord Himself embracing me in the power of His love. Had He also tried to hold them? Had they chose not to remain in that place of death with Him? I do not know. I can't imagine resisting that kind of love! But I do know His appreciation and gratitude is very, very great towards those who do choose to remain in death so that His life can flow in a unrestricted wonder, joy and power.

The two waves of power:
Former and latter rain?

There has been in recent years a wave of the Lord's presence and power which has been wonderful. I believe that was the first surge or wave. Yet, I believe there is a second wave to come that will enable the church to flow in the power of Jesus' resurrection power and ascension glory like never before.

From the time of His resurrection to the time of His being caught up in the clouds Jesus preformed miracles which He had not done up to that point. He appeared and reappeared where ever He chose, at times in different forms. Many were raised from the dead at one time some having been dead for many many years. He passed through closed doors. He ascended and descended between heavenly and earthly realms.

I believe a few are beginning to experience the ascension glory of Jesus already. Some have raised many from the dead. Although to my knowledge none are yet raising those who have been dead for years. Some are being caught up into heaven on somewhat of a regular basis, some are being bodily translated by the Spirit into different places preaching the gospel or doing works of benevolence and then being taken back again. It's only just the beginning of what is to come.

A word of caution here: These things can not be done at will, but as the Spirit directs out of intimate relation with Jesus. The will of the Father is always accomplished only as we yield to His Spirit alone and not our own desires.

The proclamation: He is risen!
I believe that one of the results of the resurrection power will be focusing more on the resurrection and ascension position of Jesus rather that of Jesus on the cross. Before you get bent out of shape about that statement here me out. I do not mean that the work of the cross will be minimized ever. In fact it will become a greater focus but the focus of the cross will be on this side of the cross rather than the other side of the cross. While He was indeed the suffering servant He is now the glorified King of Kings!

This will flow out of hearts filled will much joy, dancing and rejoicing in His resurrection victory! The last enemy death has been overcome! It is causing many who are of a religious mind set and have a form of godliness but deny His resurrection power to wonder and question as to why they have not are not seeing the joy and power of God in there lives. They are choosing to indentify with the spirit of the elder brother rather than with the joyous celebration of Father's heart over His Son who has returned. We are not to engage them in this debate and be pulled aside for our focus the wonder of His resurrection, rather we are to keep worshiping, proclaiming, demonstrating the resurrection and exaltation of our Lord.

Jesus sitting and resting:
While Jesus does have a rest for us to enter into, He desires for us to work out of that rest, a which flows from the very life and nature of Jesus within us. Yes, Jesus is at rest. Yes His work is finished! Yes He is seated at the right hand of the Father. Yet He is not separated from us as He is seated within our hearts and gives His rest to us as well. He is in us and one with us as spirit of His Spirit and voice of His Voice. For His Voice does not come from without but from within as we go forth to proclaim the glory of His resurrection within us.

There is much work which remains for His people to do as many have still to hear the good news of our Lord's resurrection. Preach the Good News! The Kingdom of heaven is at hand! Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, and cleanse the leper. Freely you have received. Freely give!
